New West Fife Villages booklet commissioned

The West Fife Villages Community Planning Group has commissioned Links Media to prepare a revised West Fife Villages booklet.

The original edition was funded by a BIG Lottery grant and successfully raised awareness of the area’s many assets and communities. It was updated in 2005 but the group feels that it should be revamped to provide locals and visitors with more information about the area.

Thanks to a grant from Fife Council’s Area Budget, the new booklet is being produced with an anticipated publication of July this year.

According to chair John Duffy “the previous booklets were successful in raising locals’ awareness of what is good about their communities and we wish to get this across to a wider area.

“While we will continue to emphasise the quality in our communities, we also wish to publicise major events such as Culross Festival, Snowdrop Festival and West Fife Villages Art and Photography Exhibition as well as local galas and information on public transport.

“We also wish to raise awareness of people such as Admiral Cochrane and Sir James Dewar who literally changed the world but are not well known.

“We also have major assets in our heritage and natural environment that we wish to promote. In this way we hope to improve people’s economic opportunities.”

John added: “If groups have regular events that they wish to promote or information that should be shared, they should contact Links Media via this website or directly at david@linksmedia.com
