Can the West Fife Villages community help?

Radio West Fife is dedicated to supporting local charities and communities throughout West Fife.

In 2011 alone they’ve championed around 40 charities and good causes. They also attended and supported several West Fife Villages galas, and promoted these beforehand to the patients and listeners at Queen Margaret Hospital. Now they’re looking for our help!!!

With the oncoming closure of many of the wards at QMH next year, in order to develop and maintain their service to the hospital and community, they plan to the first community based radio station in Dunfermline by transmitting on-line by the end of the year.

In order to achieve this, as a registered charity, they’ve entered the Royal Bank of Scotland Community Force project initiative.

They’re aiming to secure one of three cash awards - the winners are based on public voting that is now open.

If Radio West Fife is successful, the funds would be used to develop West Fife community based activities through the purchase of mobile broadcasting equipment, which would enable them to bring live community events to patients and the wider world.

They would also be able to enhance their promotion of local good causes, including the West Fife Villages, which would encourage more people to get more involved in their community.
